2011 Summit, Las Vegas

Building off of the success of the 2009 event, we hosted our second summit in October of 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2011 Summit focused on the West as a bastion for mainstream politics in the wake of a 2010 election cycle that saw extreme Tea Party politicians win elections in many parts of the country.  Leaders from around the West, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, spoke to how a common-sense, practical brand of politics were pervading in the West.

At the 2011 Summit, PNA unveiled a regional research project based on 1,000 online interviews and 3,000 telephone interviews throughout the Western region.  The project, which built upon years of Western research, identified the most effective frames for progressives to talk about key issues in the West.
